Summary:

Portable dry powder fire extinguishers are mainly used […]

Portable dry powder fire extinguishers are mainly used to fight solid material fire (Class A), flammable liquid fire (Class B), flammable gas fire (Class C) and general electrical fires. Because of its flexible operation and wide application range, fire extinguishers are used in all corners of society. The operation method is as follows: first remove the safety pin, pull out the nozzle, and then align the left and right sides of the flame to apply for a fire.

Below, Shenzhen De Puri Xiaobian introduces in detail how to use the portable dry powder fire extinguisher for reference.

1. When using a portable dry powder fire extinguisher, the handle of the fire extinguisher should be handed over to the fire.

2. Put down the fire extinguisher at a distance of about 5 meters from the fire point. When used outdoors, it should occupy the upper wind direction.

3. Before use, first turn the fire extinguisher upside down several times to make the dry powder in the cylinder loose.

4. If you are using a built-in or storage pressure dry powder fire extinguisher, you should first remove the safety pin, hold the nozzle with one hand, and press the pressure handle with the other hand, the dry powder will be ejected from the nozzle.

5. If an external dry powder fire extinguisher is used, hold the nozzle with one hand and lift the handle with the other hand. Hold the handle and the dry powder will be ejected from the nozzle.

6. When using a dry powder fire extinguisher to save a dispersing liquid fire, it should be from the side of the flame. Align with the root of the flame and spray it from near to far, sweep left and right, and advance quickly until all the flames are extinguished.

7. When using a dry powder fire extinguisher to save the flammable liquid in the container, the fire should also be directed from the side of the flame to the left and right side of the flame. When the flame is driven out of the container, it should move forward quickly and extinguish all the remaining fire. When extinguishing fires, be careful not to align the nozzle directly with the liquid surface to prevent the impact of the dry powder airflow from splashing the oil, causing the fire to expand and causing fire extinguishing difficulties.

8. When using a dry powder fire extinguisher to save solid materials, the fire extinguisher should be pointed at the most violent place, and the left and right fire should be sprayed. The dry powder fire extinguishing agent should be sprayed evenly on the surface of the burning material until the fire is extinguished.

9. The use of dry powder fire extinguisher should be kept in an upright state during the fire extinguishing process. Do not use it horizontally or upside down, otherwise it should not be sprayed; at the same time, pay attention to prevent the re-ignition after the dry powder fire extinguisher is extinguished, because the dry powder fire extinguisher has little cooling effect and exists at the fire point. Under the condition of hot substances, it is easy to re-ignite after fire extinguishing.

When using a portable dry powder fire extinguisher to save a solid combustible fire, spray it at the strongest point of combustion and sweep up and down, left and right. If the conditions permit, the user can spray the fire extinguisher along the four sides of the burning object, so that the dry powder fire extinguishing agent is evenly sprayed on the surface of the burning object until the flame is completely extinguished.

The dry powder fire extinguisher shall be inspected visually every month, mainly to check the pressure gauge of the fire extinguisher. When the pressure gauge pointer is lower than the green line area, it shall be charged and repaired immediately; the newly purchased ABC dry powder fire extinguisher tank shall be tested for 5 years of water pressure test 1 After the first test, the water pressure test is carried out once every 2 years, and the mandatory retirement period of the tank is 10 years.

Dry powder fire extinguisher inspection items

1. The fire extinguisher should check the pressure gauge regularly. When the pressure gauge pointer is lower than the green line area, it should be charged and repaired immediately. Generally, the fire extinguisher bottle pressure is valid for one and a half to two years, and it should be periodically pressurized or replaced.

2. The fire extinguisher should be placed in a clean and dry place. It is strictly prohibited to explode and be close to the fire source; it should be kept in a safe place. According to GA95-2015 "Fire Extinguisher Maintenance and Scrap Regulations";

3. After each use, the fire extinguisher must be sent to the maintenance unit that has obtained the maintenance permit to inspect, replace the damaged parts, and refill the fire extinguishing agent and driving gas;

4. If the fire extinguisher has been used or not used, it must be sent to the maintenance unit for hydraulic pressure test when the factory has reached the specified time limit.

5. Portable and cart type 1211 fire extinguishers, portable and cart type dry powder fire extinguishers, and portable and cart type carbon dioxide fire extinguishers must be subjected to hydrostatic tests for one year.

6. Hand-held and cart-type chemical foam fire extinguishers and portable acid-base fire extinguishers have been in operation for two years, and every other year, hydraulic pressure test must be carried out.

As a conventional fire-fighting equipment, the dry powder fire extinguisher should be stored in a ventilated and dry place to prevent the dry powder fire extinguisher from being exposed to direct sunlight, heavy rain, moisture, and corrosion.
